Meet Our New Japanese Team Member
2020 has already started with excitement for the Translation Team at Talking Heads as they welcome a new Administrator.
Hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Shoko earned a BA in Humanities from the Department of American and British Studies at Toyo Gakuen University in Chiba, Greater Tokyo, studying, in the main, British Studies including politics, economics, sociology, literature and language. Her previous education also included studying in South Carolina, USA.
Shoko has worked with APC (American Power Conversion) Japan, Inc, a manufacturer of uninterruptible power supplies and electronics peripherals and the famous denim clothing brand, Levi Strauss Japan in her native country, and in administration for a large retailer in the UK. This experience is invaluable for manufacturing translations and our retail / ecommerce clients.
She enjoys learning about new parts of the world, through her travels to various cities in the US, Singapore, Australia, Italy and Germany, and says
“I am enjoying learning about different cultures through languages at Talking Heads”.
Outside of work Shoko enjoys music, books / audiobooks, podcasts and drawing, and has a special love of British comedy - especially Vic & Bob!
The additional experience and Japanese language skills Shoko brings to the Talking Heads team are invaluable and we look forward to working with her.
