Talking Heads' Translation Client Graham & Brown Spotlighted in Homes & Gardens' 100 Years Celebration.
We’re so pleased (but not surprised!) to see our ecommerce translation client Graham & Brown put into the spotlight in the June 2019 Centenary Issue of Homes & Gardens magazine.
In a feature called ‘Movers & Shakers: The Brit Pack’, H&G says, “As we mark our 100th birthday, we turn the spotlight on eight brands that have shaped the path of British design.”
The feature includes Graham & Brown as one of the eight super-brands and interviews Andrew Graham MBE, CEO:
“From bold botanics and colourful florals to striking cityscapes and monochrome graphics, Graham & Brown’s wallpapers have been making an impact for more than 70 years. Founded in Blackburn in 1946, by friends Harold Graham and Henry Brown, the firm is still owned by its two founding families – CEO Andrew is Harold’s grandson and chairman John Carter is Henry’s. An archive of over 30,000 pieces comprises in-house designs and historic works, some of which date back 200 years.”
‘People can dress their walls with papers to express themselves in the same way that clothes make a personal statement,’ says Andrew.
‘It’s our job to inspire and encourage confidence. At the same time, we are always looking for ways to innovate. I’ve heard the phrase “from rags to riches, riches to rags in three generations” – to avoid that we mix third-generation family leadership with an excellent team. We employ people who share our values. For us, creating wallpaper is an artisanal process with a human touch at its heart.’
Talking Heads has worked with Graham & Brown since 2016 on the translation of their ecommerce content and marketing communications, assisting the company to ensure their excellent brand travels well. Click images to enlarge:
